PSYCHE IN VENICE

Adventure has become somewhat of an essential for sub-cultural millennial’s. This is not something to be made into a competition, I see you.. Spreading our wings and seaching for wifi hot-spots is now the ‘norm’. A weekend amongst the map of canals was not one to waste.

The first task was to navigate the Italian tube, but on water featuring the smell of Morrisons fish counter. I joke, the smell really wasn’t that awful. I had pretty much met most of the world within stepping onto the canal boat. Seats filled with Italians, French, Spanish and even Chinese. Watching the varieties of cultures is something that I’ve always found so fasincating. (Believe me, I have a certificate for Chinese cultural training). Of course once we had blindly found the hotel food was my first thought, naturally. Small pockets of bakeries were dotted around every lane, scents of ‘proper’ coffee and hand-baked carbs. Not ideal if you’re a GF foodie like me, but I took one for the team (you’re welcome).

Ciao, Ciao Bella… Ciao. How many times do you walk down the streets in the UK and not say hi to a single soul? Always. The European culture seem to have communication down to a fine art. Oh, and the architecture. It’s incredible to be on land where people appreciate creativity and art. Every street had designs of history which were untouched and blessed by nature. Systems were a memory of the past, but they worked. My map-reading was not at it's finest level but that's what made the adventure. Each day waking at the shine of Italian sun through the windows, eagerly getting ready for days filled with thousands of steps and photography snaps.

Venice is the city of beauty, refined style, and yes love... wait for the eye-roll. Candle lit tables gathered with love connections. Although, romance makes the trip that little bit sweeter. Who can resist a bunch of red roses and a stunning view? I know I can't...
